Inside the Story with Mason Murray

Tell us about yourself Mason

I’m 25 and an Australian investigative journalist who’s currently living in Putney, London.

I’m a die-hard Trekkie fan who is fascinated by crop circles. Did you know we’ve just passed the 60th anniversary of the arrival of the first crop circles, (there were more than one), on a farm in Tully Queensland? It’s a big deal and I was pleased to be sent home to report on this milestone.

I’m also married to fellow Aussie Miranda, who has recently given birth to our beautiful twins.

How would your best friend describe you?

That would be Scott Harmon. We’ve known each other since we were nippers together at Byron Bay Surf Club.

Scott’d say that I’m a lousy surfer, but a half decent sailor. He’d also quickly add that I’ve excellent taste in women. (I married his sister). Indeed, we both married enchanting women who are also best friends, which can be complicated.

Scott’d add that I’m tenacious, a good writer (he’d say that reluctantly), and a bit of a nerd when it comes to all things science fiction and science fact related.

What’s your role in Father lost Child Found?

I’m a source of expertise on crop circles and possible sightings of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs). I am at the scene of a major breaking story in a foreign country in the second half of Father Lost Child Found. I get to know feisty Galina a little better in this story. She certainly is one of a kind, with a need to reveal secrets while keeping a few of her own.

What makes you laugh?

Our twins: Woody and Grace. They are showing early signs of superior intelligence and are the only things that will delightedly distract me from meeting a posting deadline.

What motivates you?

Discovering and reporting on a story of international interest.

Keeping my wife happy.

Getting one over on Scott Harmon.

What does the Jane Ellyson have in mind for you in the next book in the series?

I understand that I will, (finally), take more of a leading role in the story line, when a cryptic message is received from out of space.

Thanks so much to Mason for sharing a peek behind the scenes of Father Lost Child Found!

Galina-Elizabeta Ivanof’s father died in an accident on an oil platform, twenty-four years ago.
