Ever since my brother was murdered by a New York City crime boss, who got away with the crime, I’ve kept his killer under surveillance whenever I could spare the time, searching for a way to bring him down and get justice for my brother. And I thought I might finally get something on him when one of his two daughters, who seemed to have disappeared years before, reappeared at his home. According to intel I’d received, one of the daughters was supposed to take Cipriana’s place as head of the crime family while he sauntered off into the sunset and enjoyed a happy retirement. No way could I let that happen. I followed her home, just so I could keep tabs and I’d know where to find her if need be. Unfortunately, I then left to go meet with an informant. I’m still kicking myself over that, because if I’d hung around, she might not have ended up murdered, and her infant daughter might not be missing.

Now, I have no choice but to work with his other daughter, Lexi McKenna, to try to find the missing infant while also keeping the twin that was left behind safe. I don’t know what I expected from the older daughter, the one my informant stated was supposed to succeed Cipriana, but it wasn’t Lexi. She seems both kind and determined to see her sister’s killer caught and care for the twin girls she left behind, but how can I trust her, knowing her past and the future her father intends for her?

Our search takes us from New York City to the mountains of Montana. Unfortunately, someone is trying to stop us. And whoever it is arrives in Montana as well, determined to take both of us out. Now, we’re trying to keep one child alive and find another, all with seemingly well-trained assassins on our heels.
